Hi all :) I let my chickens out of their coop into their run this morning around 11am. At the time, it was sunny. Right now though, its raining quite heavily, although not particularly cold. Knowing their coop is open I didn't worry too much, but half an hour ago I went down to check on them, and there they all are - outside, in the heavy rain, apparently having a ball. They all look like they fell in a bathtub somewhere along the line - they are really quite wet, on top as well as underneath due to the long grass they are enjoying running through. I can't help but worry they are all going to die of pneumonia! I've tried in vain to chase them back inside - nope, they don't want to go in. I've tried treats, bribes, promises. They want to play outside in the wet. Do I just give up and let them be? Or should I prepare for a funeral when they all inevitably die of a cold? Thanks in advance. Krista.

Wet doesn't cause a cold, bacteria and viruses do.

As long as they are healthy and have open access to the coop, and have lived there long enough to know how to get back to the coop, let them be chickens.

How old are they?
A fully feathered adult can look soaked but be nice and dry at the skin level.

We are not entirely sure how old they are, but estimate around the 5 1/2 to 6 month old mark. They certainly seem to look ok today, now that they've dried out! Thank you so much for your time :)
