Single comb brown leghorn

I just got a new single comb brown leghorn chick should I cut of some of its crown in the winter time so she won't get frostbite? :/

By this do you mean its comb? If so i do not recommend it, this would be rather like cutting into you ear lobe, putting Vaseline or petroleum jelly on will stop any damage from the cold. Check out http://www.wikihow.com/Protect-Chicken-Combs-from-Winter-Cold

 

[what did I do]

Chickens can take the cold remarkably well. We had a day last november where it was -30. The combs didn't get much damage and I let them out for a few days when it was very cold.I did start keeping them in when the weather got below 0. I did have a chicken freeze her toes but something strange happened to her. Once her toes fell off she started laying again. Our combs all weathered the winter very well.
