Just a question. These are in my blrw. I added a new rooster this past year it is out of Barber lines and out of him I get a average of about 15-20 percent chicks with single combs. Should these be kept to see how they turn out? I know breeders in my area and in talking to them they feel that getting single combs is a good thing. They feel that when getting single combed chicks meens that you are at the start of the lines and can be bred together to improve the breed without losing much in fertility. Any thoughts?

I don't know how everyone else feel but I let all mine mature and see how their body and lacing turns out then cull. I haven't kept a single comb yet but have a few now that look promising. If it will help me get to where I'm headed I'll keep them since I have no trouble getting rid of them if need be!!
