I beleive my RIR froze to death night before last!

She was fine when I tuck everyone in & I tossed cracked corn on floor!
I went to let them out yesturday AM & she was stiff as a board on a perch all alone! ((she was quite perky until then))

every winter I add different single comb breeds that are cold hardy but, It just seems the rose & pea comb never have a problem!

have other people have similar finding?

No. Her comb type was definitely not the cause of her death. Look for something else. The reason people say pea combed chickens are better suited for cold weather is because that comb type will not get frostbite as easily as a straight comb. But it will not cause one to die.
Sorry to hear about your hen dying though.
