Hi,
So months ago I offered to adopt a cross beak amaraucana if it turned out to be a she. I'd hate to see the poor thing culled. Today the lady contacted me, the hen is 4 months old and is the same size as the others so eating fairly well.
I want to bring her home, but I'm worried about introducing a single hen to my small flock... I'm also worried about her being quarantined alone...
I have a quarantine area that I used alongside my house earlier this year for the leghorns, it's a fenced off "catio" and I used a large dog crate as a "coop"... I would do the same thing, it is dropping down to 0 at nights now though....
I currently have 3 silkies (one is a roo) that I raised, and an EE and Amaracauna that I adopted that are the same age (6 months old), and 2 leghorns that I rescued that are over a year old.
Is it feasible to integrate 1 lone hen.... I could do it in slow steps and hang out and mediate when I finally introduce them
