So I have a 5 week old cayuga girl, and I was wondering if she will become more independent as she gets older. I know ducks are flock animals and that I am her flock, but I'm just curious if

she will feel any more secure with being by herself as she gets older. As it is right now shes very attached, loves hanging out on my lap while i'm on the computer or following me around my

apartment, even if I am at least in sight she is fine, but the moment I leave she starts to quack with unhappiness and takes off to find me. The only reason that this bothers me is that with

summer coming, and me living right on the edge of the woods I sure would like her to feel comfortable enough to at least wonder around outside forging by herself, rather than just sit in

front of the door making unhappy quacks. I realize the most obvious solution is to get another duck to raise so she will have a partner, but I really dont think thats a solution given land lord

issues, and such.

Sooo yeah will it get better or is she going to stay very dependent? And if I were to get another day old, and raise her separate for a while until shes big enough to be with our cayuga would they bond to each other? Thanks for the help:)
