My muscovy duck has been such a good first time broody to 11 eggs. Yesterday she was off the clutch a little more thn usual, and I did an egg count. The chickens had added 2 more eggs to her clutch, which i removed as usual, but I noticed a single ducky egg had been removed and separated by at least 12 inches. I brought it in and checked for viability (it's for sure growing a duck, I see veins), so I stuck it in the bator.

Is it unheard of for a mama to kick an egg out? Can they sense if one is going bad? I made sure she resat on the remaining 10 eggs...

thanks!

no , she just lost the egg, most will pull them back under it they see them.
