Sinus Infection Help?

Hi everyone. This is my first post, although I have read this site previously for advice.

My sweet chicken Lucy's face has been swollen since Thursday. When I went to close my girls up last Thursday I saw Lucy's face and brought her into the house. She has a runny nose and eye bubbles also.

Thursday was the first day the girls were out of the run in 5 days (we got 10 inches of snow a few days before , super unusual in southern VA). I thought maybe the stress of not being able to free range and the snow stressed her out and brought this on? I gave her a 1/2 cc Tylan 50 Thursday evening and then 1/2 cc Tylan 50 injection twice a day since Friday. It has gone down slightly since it first happened. Her nose has been draining a lot (tons of bugers & clear snot) and I have been trying to put a warm compress on the lump twice a day when I clean her face etc. Lucy hates the compress so its probably not very effective. There is no smell coming from the lump/head. I'm not sure if this is a sinus infection or a respiratory illness?

She is eating well and drinking. She seems happy and makes lots of chicken noises. She also is pooping normal. Her eye is much more open today, although she does still have some bubbles. I included some pictures below, the first is Friday, second Saturday and last two are from this evening. Can anyone offer any advice? How long should I keep her on the Tylan 50? I am super worried about her and appreciate all your help in advance!

I keep my birds on tylan50 for 3 to 4 days 5 at the very most, giving them 3/4cc to 1cc orally each day.

I personally would if you have been giving her tylan50 since Thursday would give her a last 1cc orally and then let her be her. It looks like she has made an impressive recovery great job.

It sounds like your hen has AvianRhinoTracheitis (ART) a respiratory infection.The dosage for Tylan 50 is 1/4 cc bantum, 1/2 cc standard once a day for five days.Two days wont do it.She and your flock will be carriers for life Tylan just treats symptoms not curing the disease.In times of stress the disease will come back.Keep her isolated in a stress free environment for a while.

The symptoms sound more like MG (mycoplasma gallisepticum) which Tylan will treat, although without testing, you can never know for sure. If your chicken weighs 5 pounds or more, you can give 1ml twice a day for 5 days, either orally, or by injection into the breast muscle 1/4 inch deep. MG is contagious and can make carriers of all of your birds.
