Hello. I'm Amy's Mama Hen. My family has a mini farm in Ga. We currently have 1 horse, 4 goats, two dogs, one old cat, and of course chickens! I had a problem last year that I'm hoping to solve this year, but need some advice. What do I do when several chickens go broody at the some time? We have nice chicken house with several boxes but last year the girls fought over the eggs, and when the first chick hatched it was instantly killed. I have one girl that just went broody and I tried to move her and her eggs to another protected area other than tthe chicken house but she didn't settle down. I would greatly appreciate help in this area. Thanks so much.

Yes, I tried the night that I noticed her sitting. I wonder if I should have waited a few days of her sitting and then tried to move her at night?

When I let her out of the other protected pen into the regular pen she started sitting again in the familiar boxes. I'll wait a few more days before trying to move her again and see if that works.. Unless anyone else had some more advice. By the way my hen is a buff.
