sitting hen starving?

When my hen went broody her poor little comb dried up and it looked like an ole chitlin. It was puny and grey and wrinkled, she got off the nest once a day too. Her chicks are now a month old and her comb is pink and she's laying again. I have another one gone broody now, I didn't know they went broody year round, but It seems they do.

Oh, hahahah, just wait till i tell him that, hes asleep cause its 11.44 pm here.
He would say "look at those chitlins" when he saw a bunch of pretty girls out somewhere!!!
I never get jealous, I bet they cant cook a pavlova like me!!!
Thanks for the translation.!!!
So Roast, hows your little broody girl doing today????
I know its stressful but thats their job, to stress us out till we learn their patterns of behaviour!

Thanks everyone for your help!

An update for you! I now have two chicks that are in a brooder box, and both seem to be doing well!

YIPPEE I'm into day 4 with the first hatchling (so fingers crossed, as my last chick that hatched - and stayed with Mum - died on day 4

!))

My Hen is still sitting on the last egg, and I'm not holding great hopes for it hatching, as it should really have hatched the same time as the others. I will give it until the end of the week.

The Mum however is eating as I have been feeding her! I have also noticed two nice (well horrid actually!!) looking poos in the coup! She is in with my raspberries, and so is separate to the flock... I think she will be fine in the long run as I have had the experience of a hen sitting on air - and I managed to fix that! So all is loking good... PHEW!

These two chicks are my first, and I have to say I find them adorable. This whole experience is amazing really! Who knew chooks could be so great! I guess I'm truely hooked now! (my family think I'm bonkers!)
