we think she had a problem laying her first egg as there seemed to be one lodged at her rear end when she died, our other sitter has 3 babies i will put some pics on later, we have had friends over for the last 10 days, they leave tomorrow so will have more time.

Yes she got egg bound

When setting eggs under a broody hen. ALL eggs need put under at the same time. She will leave the nest within 2 day after first chicks hatch.
