Sitting in nest box for hours

We have a heat wave here currently, and ever since it started, my barred rock Gidget sits in the nest box for 1-2 hours a day. I can tell she is definitely not egg bound or broody. She is still laying, eating, pooping, roosting at night, and running around with her sisters. I'm not sure if the heat would have any factor in this, could it?

Ha! My barred rock, Rocket, does the same!!!
All of the above. Our heat wave is over and she still does it. BTW, I put in a little fan to blow on her.

I've had a few loungers...they just seem to like to spend more than the usual time lounging in the nests.

Sometimes they sit for a few, get up sing an egg song, have some food, water, go for a poo then sit some more.
