Sitting in the nest box??

It was dark all the chickens were on the roost except for a RIR hen--who was in the nest box..she lays very late! Will she stay in there all night or will she finish laying and get on the roost?? Should I go out and put her on the roost???

She is probably sleeping in the nest box. Our chickens tend to prefer sleeping in a nest box rather than on the roost. We finally had to make a way to close the nest boxes so they could not sleep in them.

No, she doesn't sleep in the nest box...She usually lays just before 7 which is now 6 and it's raining cats and dogs so---it was completely dark before 5:45....Poor thing.. I am off to see if she can get moved...
