Six months hens haven't laid yet! Plz help!

Sex-links and Leghorns lay at young ages, egg bred birds are becoming adults at this age. Decreasing day length could cause them to not lay.

My red sex-links didn't start until 6 months so evidently I have late layers, lol. But the daylight thing is probably a good reason....even I'm depressed by the lessening of daylight

Hens generally lay at around 7 months. My girls started to lay at 10 months, tho. It's perfectly normal. Just give em some time! Best of luck!!

Yeah you're spoiling those moochers! I got to admit that's pretty weird, they don't have a hide out spot they could be laying in do they? Or have you noticed any morbidity obese snakes in the neighborhood?

No snakes lol!!! And I have checked every nuk and crannie for these eggs! But hopefully they will lay soon! Thanks for the response

Btw, a lot of first time hens don't even begin laying until 6 months. Not sure the time frame on your particular breeds, but most of my hens have started at 6 months or later.

One of my red sex link started laying today she is 6 months old. The other two haven't laid yet I wouldn't worry to much. The chicken that laid today was in my husbands boat she even moved stuff around.

They should be very close to laying. I would keep them contained in the run for the next few weeks so they don't sneak off and lay their eggs in a bush! If they aren't doing that already
