Six week Dominique - hen or roo?

Now I’m even more conflicted than before! This probably means nothing but these little chickens just got moved to the big coop and Domino roosted immediately. The cockerels I’ve had in the past never did this but like I said, could mean absolutely nothing 🤣

It’s SO sweet, I’m really hoping it’s a pullet so I can keep it. We already have a rooster and don’t need another. Time will tell!

A pullet and a cockerel can have the 1:1 white to black ratio, but the pullet can also have the 1:2 white to black ratio. Leg color is a good indicator only in hatchery chicks, and even then it's not too strong of an indicator. Is a bit pink for six weeks, but with a large comb in dominiques (which I am not used to) it could be normal. I'd say wait it out, could go either way. One thing I'll say for sure, the head isn't white enough to be a definite rooster.

From my very little experience, roosters ARE the sweetest as roos. Way sweeter than the females, they just want to cuddle instead of peck me and cuddle. At 3 weeks my BR pullets were conquering 3 ft jumps and at 8 weeks they conquered 8 ft jumps. Time certainly will tell!

Looking at the last picture, looks like a pullet from the barring being majority black. Clear black lines make their way around the chicken's back and breast.
I agree, looks more pullet here.
