Size brooder??

My brooder is 28"x 60". Is that big enough for 26 baby chicks? I'm not sure on the math

My chicks are comming Feb 1 so do i need a nother brooder? Thanks Scotty

I think you should be ok , how long do you plan on keeping them in the brooder? Remember they get big real fast ,and the brooder gets small very fast. Last bunch of chicks I had 20 were in a 24x48 brooder. After 6 weeks it was geting cramped and they went outside. Good luck

My chicks have more than doubled size in one week.

They were eating, sleeping, pooping, growing machines.... and the house was beginning to stink!

Thanks , I should make another brooder. They might need to stay in longer than 8 weeks Because of the cold. April is still really cold. My chicks are coming soon . Cant wait LOL. Thanks Scotty
