Size difference?? Belgian d'Anver bantams

I have 2 d'Anvers... 1 is blue quail and the other is quail. Both are 6 weeks old today.
Any ideas why Pipsqueak is so small?? She has always been the tiniest, but seems to be healthy and growing very slowly. Got them both from Ideal Poultry as newborns.

Oh she is tiny! I don’t think I can be much help but have you had a vet take a look at her? Maybe she’s got some kind of dwarfism? Is she the same age as the other chick?

Same age. No chicken vet and not really a thought of spending that money. Was hoping to get thoughts from here. She really is so tiny. I have a coop of bantams same age and she looks like a brand new baby amongst them.

Every so often in my lifetime of chicken owning, one is stunted.

Sadly, often the stunted ones have something wrong with them, peep/ cry more often, and then waste away and die.

Sometimes they are perfectly healthy, just stay small.

I hope you have a healthy one, but prepare your heart just in case.... and realize that nothing would have changed the outcome. This isn't a thing a vet can fix.

So far she is really healthy but we are losing these lavender cochins from ideal hatchery. Im hoping she will be fine and at least get big enough to survive. Right now she just buries under everyone else and it works. Lol. Fingwrs crossed i guess! Thank you!!
