Thanks everyone that wrote me great advise I am getting to believe that it does make the difference in the size of the rooster (Batums) vs regular size eggs are coming smaller for sure.

Some breeds lay larger eggs than others. New layers lay smaller eggs at first.

The size of the eggs that your hens lay is highly in-heritable from mother and father to pullet. Yea, I know that a daddy chicken don't lay no stinking eggs but that doesn't mean that the rooster is not important to egg size. Keep this always in mind when picking and choosing replacement pullets or chicks. It's like picking out toys in the Sears & Roebuck Christmas Catalogue, chose wisely or be disappointed on Christmas Day.

Thank You SueT, For that egg answer. Do you happen to know is a Comet Hy-bird Red What is it crossed with?

I am unsure but to produce Comet Hybrid chickens my understanding is that you will first need deeply inbred families of pure hens and roosters of each breed or strain of chickens that goes into making those Hy-bred chickens.

Hybrid chickens are not bred with anything however they are the product of breeding two or more pure or deeply inbred strains of chickens. This produces a hybrid bird.
