I have a two year old Sussex/Egger who is only laying tiny eggs. She laid a few regular size eggs her first egg year, but the rest were tiny and only tiny eggs this year so far. They have tiny yolks too! Why?

She’s a little smaller than my Partridge Rock. Sharing both of their eggs for scale.

Do these eggs have tiny yolks as well???
Reason I ask,,,,... Tiny eggs are often called Fairy eggs, or Fart eggs. Those do not have a yolk usually. They can be layed by any chicken at adult age.
Different chickens have different size eggs. Some may be small due to genetic factors. There is not much you can do,,,, Except, do not breed her, to have fertile eggs,,, and hatch those.
Beautiful chicken BTW.. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I only have Bantams currently. Only 4. The eggs are quite large for size of chicken. 2 of the banties quit laying altogether. I guess they are in their geriatric years now.:old
I would be satisfied if they layed smaller eggs like your green ones.
Yes,, we eat all those eggs,,, and purchase store eggs,, since I do a lot of baking.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

They do have tiny yolks!

I am happy to embrace them (they are very cute) as long as Disco is healthy. I really just want to see if anyone has ideas that it could be due to diet or environment- things I provide and can change.

I love Bantams! :love
