Size of enclosed area/roost in coop

I'm new here and am enjoying/appreciating all of the information on this site. I am designing my first coop - a tractor. I've read conflicting advice on how large to make the sheltered closed-in (where they roost) part. I will have 4 hens and the attached run will be 8x4. Would 3x4 be large enough? Any height restrictions? Thank you.

Hi,

My coop is 3'x4' and made for 4 hens (may be OK for 6 max). I read the they should have 18" head room from the roost to the roof so they can stand and flap a bit.
