size of heat plate?

Thanks everyone! I thought 12" x 12" sounded small. They're not coming until mid April so it should theoretically be relatively warm, but I don't dare count on it. I'll go up a size. I like the Press N Seal idea too.

The Press & Seal idea is great! The covers are $40- I would've bought the larger one if I'd thought of that!

No, the most I've brooded at one time so far has been 21 chicks. I see no reason why you couldn't set up more than one heat plate though, if you had the room for it.
I've brooded day old chicks and ducklings under heat plates and have had no problems at all. I absolutely love them.

Yep, just always like to see pics of multiples.
