We have 2 Indian Runner ducks. About 6 or so weeks old. We have the same routine everyday, and the 1 ducks seems to be very timid all the time. Never wants to be touched or held (which is fine) but I could walk past him and he freaks out. I feel that he was not this way as a baby much, but the other one seems to follow in his foot steps - but will let you pick him up snuggle him etc.

Thinking the skiddish one is the female or the two and the male is the one that totally goes with the flow. Seems as though they wanna do - what they wanna do - and they dont want anyone telling them different. They want to play and do their own thing - again which is all 100% ok just wondering if this is normal behavior or is there something I could be doing different?

Runners are pretty much skiddish some more so than others. I have had mine since hatch 3 yrs ago and they will walk past me now which is a big accomplishment for them and 2 will eat meal worms from my hand. But their antics more than make up for them not wanting to be touched or held. I now have 6 new Runner ducklings and I am in love. About all you can do is spend time with them not trying to pet or hold them. If I do have to pick on of mine up I walk them into their house and get them in there.

Ok perfect, sounds good. They dont mind being held or touched when we are actually holding them - seems they enjoy it in the moment you can just tell they dont wanna be like "chased" which I wouldn't either, lol ;) But yes we will jsut continue spending the time with them, etc.

I have 2 KCs and when they were little one was a lot more skittish than the other, but now he has turned out to be the more dominant one and I think is even bolder than my other one!
