My 18-week old Gold Star Roo, Fendi, has these dry/weird spots on one foot. I think this is the best shot I can get. It seems dry, should I just try to put some vaseline on it? I don't know if it will get worse but it has been there for a few weeks and has not seemed to worsen yet. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm no expert but it looks like he might of gotten pecked by another chicken on the roost and it looks like a scab from the picture. I wouldn't treat it and just watch it.

If it's getting bigger or more red, I'd put some triple antibiotic ointment on it twice daily.

From the picture it looks like he just got scraped or pecked at hard. But if there are lots of scaly areas, it could be mites and for that you just scrub with warm water and put vaseline on.

she should be just fine just watch and put some ontment on it and look for sharp edges in your coop especially arond the wire
Nice white leghorn

Thank you-Lofty- do you really think she is a she- I thought she was too but now I don't think so anymore based on the comments. They say she can't be a leghorn because she has red earlobes. Said she is a sex link cockerel. But 18 weeks, no crowing and no eggs yet

I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks all for the advice on the foot problem. I will watch it.

OK he has now crowed. It was pathetic but it was a crow

His foot "sores" have healed- I haven't tried the yogurt yet but am going to get him some the next time I go to the grocery store. Thanks everyone.
