Hi,
I had to create a new account, since I changed my email address. One of my chickens, Phoenix has skin peeling off of her comb and I haven’t seen this happen before.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what it is and how to treat it?

Do you have any more chickens suffering with this problem? That to me looks like some kind of fungus, maybe Favus? To treat Favus you can use an anti-fungal cream like Clotrimazole (athlete's foot cream)

Favus is contagious to the rest of your flock, and it would be wise to disinfect feeders/water and your coup, also separate chickens showing any signs of infection.

I am assuming you have treated for a dry flaky comb? Dry flaky skin can be just that. If it's just dry skin, vaseline will take care of it, but don't apply ointments, oils or creams during freezing weather.

Thanks,
I thought that it could be a fungal infection. I’ll start the cream treatments, luckily where I am it’s Summer. No other chickens are suffering from this problem currently, but I’ll keep an eye out.

It might just be dry skin. Is she not laying right now? I would try a little coconut oil and rub it in as long as it is above freezing.
It could be. She was broody a week ago and has since stopped laying, I was more concerned because I haven’t seen her comb that dry and flaky before.
