Skinny duck?

Hi there,

Is the white duck in the pic too skinny? I just noticed as he was walking around the other day that he doesn’t look as wide as the others. They have food available
24/7, fresh water, able to free range all day etc. He seems normal activity wise. Just looks skinnier to me. These are my first ducks so I am not sure if it is normal or not He is 14 weeks old, if that makes any difference?

If he's eating, drinking, and acting normal I wouldn't worry too much. He looks healthy to me, but I'm newer to ducks as well. Hopefully someone with experience will be able to help out.

Looks fine to me. Ducks shouldn't be fat anyways..

This is super helpful, thanks! The breastbone/sternum is not protruding at all so I’d say he has a score of 3

@Miss Lydia That's exactly the chart needed... I was going to say feel the breast bone, but didn't know exactly how to explain what to feel for. Birds that are too skinny will actually feel bony. You can compare one bird to another in your flock to get a better idea of what is normal/healthy.

If a Drake he will not have a Breast like a Hen and should look thinner in comparison..
