My girls are looking a bit on the skinny side to me. They eat laying crumbles, treats I give them, scratch and they free range. Just seems like they are not very plump. Any suggestions?

I would like to piggy back onto this question. I have two pullets, a Blue-Laced Red Wyandotte and a Copper Marans. I'm not sure how old they are but their wattles are starting to come in and they aren't laying yet. The Wyandotte is filling out and looking more like a chicken every day, but the Marans is a bit lankier. She almost looks like a duck from the back. Also, the Marans is very fussy and nervous. I've attached a recent photo below that doesn't really show the problem, but it shows about how old they are.

They are both eating starter feed and they both seem to have good appetites. Is this something I should worry about?

Younger chickens that haven't matured yet, have a slimmer look to them. As they develop, they fill in, round out and grow a fluffier set of feathers.
