Skinny Rooster? Comb staying blue at the tips?

Do you have a wire dog crate that you could place him in with his own food and water, then place it is the coop or run with the hens? I would go ahead and soak his vent area, and clean him up. My roosters with large combs in the past have changed colors like that, especially if cold, and as long as it is just the tips and rear of the comb, I wouldn't worry. When you let him out with the girls to mingle, you can get some BluKote and spray his red area to prevent pecking. Good luck on his full recovery.

I let him roam with them for a bit today and it went really well! He was walking around so proud. The only thing was that his rear is still bare and I noticed he was bleeding on one part because one of the hens picked at a tiny new feather growing in. I am nervous they will pick at him....
kerp an eye on him for a few days while he's recovering..
U can spray some blue coat on him..it discourages picking. When my roo got ruffed up..i thought he was dying, so I put him n a box under our trees to pass..i was shocked to see him up and about a few hrs later. He was plucked pretty bad by two dogs..had wounds all over him. He lost his hareem of hens to another roo. He was pretty low n the flock after that..we could tell he was upset/depressed over losing his feathers and glorious tail..but a few months after he recovered and grew his feathers back..he reclaimed his ladies! Glad ur roo had a nice visit w/his girls...im sure it perked him up!

okay! I will try the soak. It has not been cold here at all, if anything in the 80's or 90's. I do have a wire dog crate I've been keeping him in the house in while he recovers but it's small and just enough room to eat, drink, stand up or lay down.

Honestly, I was surprised, it was like he was never gone when I put him back with them. He also did not waste a single minute before hopping on one of the hens ... I'd like to think the ladies enjoyed the break from him, but some would even just submit to him when he did it. More than ever before. No fight or battle, just went with it.
On his list of priorities, that was definitely number one. LOL
I find it adorable when he marches around with his chest all puffed up with confidence around them.

Happy to know there is a chance his feathers will grow back!!

He is rocking the pink crate!
