Ok I have silkie chicklets... about 6-7 weeks old.
My Wyadotte chicks are fat and healthy... My meaties are humongous dinosaurs... but my silkies are skinny and weak and not thriving.... this just started in teh last few days or so... I lost one yesterday... Two are in the brooder box in my living room and seem to be doing a little better... They have been outside loose in the barn for about 2 weeks, before that in a sock tank. I cant figure out why they arent thriving all of a sudden I WATCH and make sure they are eating... and drinking but they are skinnnnnny... boney! What gives? The two in the house were weak when I brought them in... ate drank and are now looking "brighter" They have all been spunky and underfoot like the others when I go in to feed and water...

Any ideas why JUST the silkies?

Howdy, just want you to know my DH loves your signature!

Is it possible the other chicks have bullied them away from the feeders?

Im going to watch them today and maybe bring the whole lot in and "re-brood" them away from the pack.
I usually put out tons of food in multiple areas so that the meaties dont stomple everyone into the ground to hog the food. No one really bothers them and bullies them when Ive watched and they are sly little scuttlers that dart in and out from under the slow lumbering meaties... I am worrying that maybe they have forgotten where the water is??? I really want silkies darn it and everytime I get some they find different wasy to die off.... My very first batch of half grown silkies 6 years ago systematically managed to squish themselves or drown themselves in the water dish.. these have been pretty hardy until now....
