Skittish Maran

Hello All

I have a maran about 13 weeks old who started acting super skittish Usually she loves treats and is always first to come down when I call them. She started staying in the coop and not hanging with other ladies. She’seating a drinking just be anti social. Any ideas as to why?

Any possibility a flock mate - possibly a cockerel - is harassing her ?

She may be at the bottom of the pecking order. The older they get the more important that becomes to chicks.

Could be they are figuring out pecking order. She is the largest hen I have. Golden crest polish, buff Orpington silver laced Wyandotte and a golden lace Wyandotte. She used to be the protector of my goofy polish girl. Guess I will just keep a keen eye out for bullies.

She's also at the age where chicks tend to get more skittish. They'll calm down a lot once they reach point of lay.
