Skunk and raccoon

Good morning everyone!
I lost 2 adult ducks a few weeks ago one night after another
Our landlord caught a raccoon on their security camera to let me know what we were dealing with. We set a trap and caught a skunk. My husband shot it and we removed it and I picked up sweet barn lime to sprinkle over the yard where the trap was. My concern is should I dissinfect that part of the yard? I read that animals can dedicate when killed so I’m not sure what nasty diseases might be in the dirt in that area! I’ve found all kinds of ways to trap,kill and dispose but no one has commented on disinfecting.
Should I not worry?

I personally wouldn't worry. You caught the skunk during the time when it is normally active so the risk that it was diseased is minimal. Whatever may have been in the feces is likely not transmittable to your flock. And wild critters are always leaving their droppings behind.

Thank you so much for answering. I kind of thought the same thing but when I was reading about removing the dead skunk it all got scary when talking about diseases.
