Slate Blue turkeys

I Have a couple questions about tom and hen slates. Dose the tom grow beards like eastern toms do? At what age dose the hen usually start laying? Is it possible for her not to lay at all? I think they are about 5 or 6 months old. There my buddies they come running when they see me coming into the barn. Here is a picture of the two of them the hen is on the right. one of our easterns snuck into the picture along with my RIR ladies. Thank you for your help

Yes your toms should get a beard, and hens usually start laying during their first spring. I have heard of hens laying during their first fall, but I wouldn't count on it.

I agree with Frosty! The tom will have a beard, and the hen should start laying in the spring.
