I recently just got a duckling. I'm not sure how old it is but its feathers around its tail is starting to grow in. I've never had any experience with caring for ducklings, so this is my first one. I have the little duckling in a crate with towels and a stuffed animal to sleep on with food just across from it. I sit in front of and its eyes start to close and fall asleep but its eyes snap open and it begins to look around. It doesn't even close its eyes for more than 10 seconds before it starts to move around again. My mom says that when its tired it'll go to sleep, but ever since I've started watching it, it never seems like it'll ever sleep.

Cute duckling!

I wouldn't worry about it. Baby birds take very quick naps during the day, some longer than others. During the night, when the lights are off, it should sleep soundly.

Welcome to BYC!

Best of luck with your duckling.
