Hi all, added 3 new ladies to my one remaing girl ( 3 were killed by dogs). The older girl she's maybe 5 now has moved from roosting to sleeping on straw on the floor. Went out to check on them this evening and they are all cuddled up together on the floor. The others always went up to roost. Just wondering is this normal are they comfortable and safe like this? Thanks in advance

So sorry to hear about your loss. And it was good of you to get her some companions.

As long as your coop is secure they are safe there. How long have they been sleeping on the floor? If only a short time they will likely start roosting on their own eventually. You could go out after dark and gently move them up on the roost if you are concerned about it. Put your older girl on the end if you do.

I only got them yesterday evening but the older started when she was on her own. Coop is safe I'm not overly concerned about it once they're happy and comfortable and it won't do them any harm
