Sleeping on top of coup???

How can I get my chicken to stop flying on top of the coup and sleeping there all night??? When he jumps down in the morning he jumps outside of the electric fence and therefore is not protected . . . .

I had a similar problem with my ducks...before I clipped their wings. I lost 3 of them because the top of the coop is over 11' and I couldn't reach them, even with a pole, and owls got them.

Clipping at least one wing should stop the flying to those heights, so your rooster should realize that he needs to go into the coop at night for safety. The trade-off is that they won't be able to fly away from predators. Reasoning with the birds just doesn't seem to work.
