lately my girls have been sleeping outside of the coop sometimes it is cold but they still have access to go in and out as they please. any ideas why? i have noticed a couple of mice so at night food is removed and put away. will rodent cause them to not sleep inside i also have had no eggs for 3 weeks their enclosure is well insulated. any ideas would be helpful.
also how do you all confront your rodent issues

For your girl sleeping out side of the coop it could be space related. Or from my own experience, she just really is not smart and gets bullied out of the coop when she tries to go in at night.
For the mice, I put out traps out by where the food is at night and locked my hens in the coop until morning so they couldn’t hurt themselves on the traps or eat any dead mouse. Peanutbutter is the best to use on traps from my experience.

Depends on lots of things, and if there are rodents in the coop, it's possible they just don't want to go in there (but I would think they'd be going after the mice??).
When I was in SE Texas (warm and humid in winter; hot and gross in summer) my chickens would often sleep outside the coop because the mosquito pressure was less outside (even in a well-ventilated coop). And when the mosquitos weren't so bad, there were still a couple hens who simply didn't want to coop up (they slept in a near-by tree instead).
