Do chickens sleep standing up? I have a big, white Wynadotte. When i check in at night she is always standing in the coop. The two other hens are roosting. She is the alpha, could she be standing all night keeping watch?

Chickens sit down on their haunches when roosting or else they do it on the ground. If you hen is standing all night there's something wrong with her. I would give her a good going over, checking her legs, feet and underside. There has to be a reason for her doing that.
