Sleepy Peeps

Chick-N-Momma, you think them laying down now was scary, wait till they are several months old and lay on the ground or in a dust bowl. Yep, I thought they (happened more than once) were dead. It still makes me wonder when I see them doing this. javascript:insert_text('

I think they probably learned to sleep standing up because there wasn't room to lie down in the shipping box. I don't think they would be smart enough to avoid lying down for fear of trampling, because when they are too cold, they will lie on top of one another and smother the ones on the bottom of the pile. Just took them a day or two to figure out they could lie down now.

I think the cutest thing is when one falls asleep with its beak in the food dish, facing straight down. And I agree, first time I was one dust bathing, I thought it must have about 15 broken bones....

I know!!!! First time I had chicks I totally freaked when I saw them. Scared the beejeebers out of them when I screamed!
Congrats on yours. You'll soon be complaining that they've grown so fast!!!!

Ok, I'm feeling SO much better that I'm not the only one who did this with the first peeps!!!
