Sleepy quail *pics*

I hatched these little buggers on Monday. They are so cute! I love the way they scratch their food, and just fall asleep randomly. They make this cooing/grasshopper sound and stick their necks up in the air. Anyways, here are some pics. They were all sleeping, but started to wake up as I was photographing them.

What are you using for bedding? Is that their crumbles? I've heard of using the chick starter instead of shavings and thought that I might try it next time.

For the first few days I used paper towels and changed them often. I put their crumbles in the ground, and they really seemed to liek that. They really like to get in there and scratch. It was so cute, not much after they were in the brooder they were scratching all over. When I switched them to pine bedding today, they scratched all the crumbles out onto the ground. I did order these special quail feeders that supposedly keep the feed in. I still will put some out though, just to see them scratch
