Anyone reside in city limits within Slidell and interested in trying to petition the city council to ammend the ordinance prohibiting chicken and fowl?

I inquired my councilman today on what can be done and got a response that essentially was telling me to just put up with egg prices.

This came off as very "let them eat cake" as if I'm only looking to keep chickens because I'm poor and can't afford eggs.

If you reside here and were unaware, every city in LA around us allows keeping of chickens with varying degrees of regulation. Even Mandeville. Why must we remain behind the times because the city council sees this as some practice of the poor which cannot be controlled.

City council members just see them selves as smarter than the people they represent. Filthy animals
An adjacent town to me had a no chickens ordinance overturned. The people came together and spoke out.
If you can get enough people together, things may change. Strength in numbers. :thumbsup

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and:welcome
