First off I have two sets of eggs incubating at the moment. #1 16 under two broodies and #2 18 in my brinsea 20 adv. w/ humidity pump. They are due to hatch Mon. the 13th of Aug. I candled the eggs last night to compare the air cell size in the two batches of eggs and it seems the "natural" incubators eggs are loosing just a bit more moisture in them. The step I took was to drop the humidity in the incubator from 41% to 37%. So my question is will that small of a drop make that big of a difference at this point with almost a week left in the incubation process? (I know that I need to get an egg scale to monitor my egg weight through this I just don't have one yet).. Thank you all in advance!!!

Sounds like your doing really good . It should be good yes even small drops make a diffrence if they stay down its if they just go up and down quickly that things dont change I think. Cant wait to see how it goes for you. What kind of eggs are you useing and what kind of broodies do you have .

I think you're just fine. Those are good humidity numbers. Many folks out there are hatching eggs with lower humidity than yours (and mine).

Get that scale. You will love the results of regulating humidity based on weight loss of your eggs.

Thank you for the response!! The eggs that I set are Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana (black roo over white hens), Olive Eggers (same black AM roo over Cuckoo Maran hen (sex-link)) , and an experiment cross of Brown Leghorn and Ameraucana. My broodies are Cuckoo Marans (I just couldn't break them up off of the eggs so I thought what the heck might as well use their expertise on this hatch).
