Hello all!
I have 4 runner hens and a runner drake, plus a khaki hen. All are about 2 years old now. Last year, our drake was a bit too exuberant and prolapsed his penis. Thanks to the wonderful advise on this forum, my husband and I were able to do an redneck at-home partial amputation of the dead tissue and he is happily doing fine now. (Though I think my husband is still traumatized by the experience!) I'm thinking about maybe adding a few more ducks to our flock, and I was wondering if he will still be able to "do the deed" with the females, given his condition. Lord knows he still tries but I don't know how effective he is.

Also I was wondering if it would be feasible to swap out our khaki's eggs with some runner eggs, so that she could hatch them out. She is by far the broodiest of the bunch, and while a pretty duck and excellent layer, I'd really prefer more straight runners than runner-khaki hybrids. Do they know the difference between their eggs and their flock mates? If our male is infertile, could I slip her a few fertile eggs from a hatchery without issue?

Thanks in advance for your advice! I don't post much but read a lot and this forum has been very helpful in our first duck adventure!

Photos for attention and cause they're cute!

(Black runner is our male, the white/tans are our females)
