Slipped tendon

Hi,

I hope someone can help please. I have searched for this and found lots of spraddle legs but nothing about fixing slipped tendons? Has anyone done this successfully or have any information that may help? The poult is three weeks old and the largest one out of a healthy hatch of 20, we are feeding him extra vitamins now as that seems to be one of the possible causes. He seems quite happy and eats and drinks but cannot stand anymore. The tendons feel out of place and one one leg I can move it back but it wont stay, would bandaging or splinting help.

The tendons need to be rolled back into place. Do you have a vet you can call for advice?

Yep, but sadly he says cull, whats one tiny poult

I can roll it back but it won't stay, he is so bright today I will try splinting I think.

I recall a member in CA who had her chicks slipped tendon repaired surgical (very simple procedure preformed with no anethesia and I believe it cost under 40 $) non-surgical attempts are often unsuccessful.

My vet treated my kid's pet rats just like he did our dogs or cats or horses not like little insignificant rodents.

If you can roll it back and feel it "pop" in place, try the splinting or a fairly tight wrap so it doesn't pop out again. Just be sure to unwrap and let it rest for a bit, then make sure the tendon is back in place and rewrap.
