Slobber/drool

I just came across this while trying to Google everything I can think of to figure out what is going on and everything you have explained is what my goose just recently started doing and recently I mean in the past and she has never done this before this much. But my goose keeps shaking this water/drool out of her mouth as well and it's not like steams of it just droplets but she had been doing it consistently this evening. And now that she is sleeping it had stopped. But I've checked her mouth, felt her throat for anything stuck and I've been with her all day so I'm pretty certain she didn't get ahold of anything she wasn't supposed to.. did you ever figure out why your gosling was doing this. My goose is around the same age as well we rescued her on the highway about month and 2 weeks ago. She was just a little hatchling and imprinted right away so she has been glued to my side ever since. Even goes on car rides if I have to leave the house..so I'm a nervous wreck trying to figure out if this is a normal thing. I know she can't be hot we have the AC on at all times and keep a cool house. So please any advice would be very helpful..

Mine still does it a little. I’m not sure if it’s a condition? Gilbert was doing it since he was really small too. Gilbert was left by his mom so we think he may have something going on with him that his goose mom knew about because he was the only baby that was 4 days old at the lake. I’m a new goose mom too so I couldn’t give any medical advice, only what we went through.
Gilbert did end up with a bacterial infection but I got medication for him and he’s doing good. Rotten and destructive as ever.
Maybe these people can help a bit more.

There are others but I’m still pretty new here. Maybe the other ladies would know?
Also, so sorry for the late reply. I have a disease that keeps me down a lot and that’s why I’m just now replying.

Thank you so much for your input, I'm glad you responded though since we both have Canadian Goslings I thought maybe it's a trait that's specific to them. But since I posted that she has only done this one other time and hasn't really done it since. I don't know if she might have swallowed a big piece of lettuce cause I did try and message her throat and gently feel if there was in bulges in her neck or croupe area. I love these little guys personalities and would be absolutely destroyed if anything happened to her. And I will admit I am kinda worried now that she might have a bacterial infection, is there anything you would recommend I add to her gosling feed and greens diet to help give her the essentials she needs? I'm sorry to be a overbearing goose mom but I've always worried even when the flightest feather was out of place thinking it was angel wing, I've just been super careful raising her knowing how delicate wildlife babies can be with just one mistake. Just like spinach is not good for them cause something in the spinach is bad for their bones. I just hope I'm doing the best for her as I can, especially since no vets around where I live will even touch her. And our stories are so similar cause we found her as a hatchling on the load by the lake we live by. She was the only one and we looked everywhere for other babies and the mom. We thought maybe she was a early hatchling cause the mothers do tend to kick out/lose track of the chick's that hatch earlier then the others that I've seen from most abandoned hatchling that's been recused on Youtube.YouTube.. I attached a picture

She is so adorable! I didn’t realize yours was a Canada goose as well. Does she have a
Name yet? I remember Gilbert when he looked a bit homeless when all his feathers started coming in. I am a crazy goose mom too. He stays in the house mostly, except for when he goes out to eat his grass or play in the rain. I’ve tried to break him of not sleeping in the bed at night but no such luck. I’m not sure about the vitamins and extra stuff to give them. Gilbert just gets fruit that he likes as treats. Oh and I got him some probiotics for after I gave him his antibiotics. I learned everything here on this site and from these ladies and gents.
I’m also a mess when I think something might be wrong with Gilbert. If you have any questions at all just make a post and if no other ones come up that are like the question you’re needed help with, then post it and people here are great at offering all the help they can!

The last photo is Gilbert’s homeless look.
He still doesn’t honk yet, I keep thinking and hoping he’s going to and sometimes he has this throaty squeak but no such luck. I wonder if anyone knows how long it takes gosling Canada geese to get their honks?

Oh my goodness he is so handsome. The last picture of him looks like the stage my little girl is in. And We have been calling her Meeps and she really does seem to know that is her name but my daughter calls her Clover and she seems to respond to It as well. So we decided to give her the offical name of Misses Clover Meepington cause she has the SAS and deserves a sassy name.☺️ and I know exactly where your coming from trying to break them of sleeping with ya and mine will go thru lengths to figure out how to get up with me too and it's to cute when they lay down beside ya. If you don't let her she really will throw temper tantrums well that's really with anything I try to stop her from doing😅 As for her honk, I know exactly what your talking about with the raspy throat squeaky kind of honk like it's almost there but just needs a little more wind behind it. She hasn't quite fully done a honk yet but I've noticed when she gets really excited or worked up is when she really trys to do. Other then that it's just her usual sweet peeps and squeaks. I hate to keep asking you so many questions but I am so glad I found this community. Everyone here does seem like they do care and genuinely want to help out. And it seems rare to find someone raising a candian gosling so it's awesome to have to be able to ask. Cause they do seem to be just a little different from the domestic breeds. I especially stress about what to do as she gets older but of course I will do whatever I can to make sure she has the best life possible. Has Gilbert been trying to fly? Mine will jump around and spread her wings out like I think she Is starting to try. I'll get a video of the next time she does and put it on here.
