I got two cream brabanters on Sunday, fast forward today and I came home to only one alive (she has four other brooder mates just different breeds). On Wednesday 23/3 she’ll be a week old. She worries me though, not only because her sister died but she’s just so much less energetic than my other four chicks. She’s always under the brooder plate (I’ve made one side as low as it can go just for her to be able to get warmer if needed) and rarely comes out. She will come out to drink but I can’t get her to eat. She will poop but it’s basically just water. She’s had water with electrolytes and now she’s had nutridrench. I got her to peck at food maybe once or twice. I really don’t want to lose her. Do we think that that is inevitable. I know I could give her egg yolk and I’ll try that if she’s with us in the morning. I’m just so concerned.

I’m so sorry! Is there any update on the tiny girl? Is she breathing normally? Last year one of my chickies started breathing rapidly so I started rubbing VetRX on her head and under her wings, and sprinkling it in their brooder bedding. In a couple days she was much better. That’s the only other thing I can think of that you haven’t already tried, except maybe making her food a little wet and mushy so it’s easier to eat? Please let me know ♥️
