The pic. in the top right hand corner looks just like my sick chick's poo. The yellow stuff on the light grey/blue carpet. No change in chickie this a.m. Let every out ~ she just stood there staring at the automatic waterer. Eyes clear, beak dry, (no snot) semi allert, (turned her head and watched others exit pen.) This is so frusturating espically since I take good care of the chicks with clean pens and changing water 2-3 times a day and quality feed. Just part of the "chicken business" I guess. The only 2 things I can think of are flys and a mouse. ( I think the mouse came later. ) I did have a horrible horrible fly problem a few weeks ago. Three traps, 5 fly strips, and spraying the ground, where threre were hundreds with 3 M adhesive, did not put a dent in the little boogers. (The 3M stickes the wings and they can't fly. hehehe) The strips worked best, were solid black in one day, changed daily. Gonna keep after this !

Now might be a good time to buy some Safeguard or Valbazen. Some vets will tell you to worm right away, but other people say wait five days... I'm one that worms right away and ten days later. I use Safeguard 50mg/kg by mouth (.5ml per 2.2 pounds). According to a study the most effective dose of Valbazen is 20mg/kg (~.2ml per 2.2 pounds).

I'll see if I can find that lab report that showed the drugs that could have been used to treat the e. Coli that mine had.
