This chick is 6 weeks old. She is well behind all the other birds in getting her feathers. I’m not concerned about her as she is a spitfire and has no problem keeping up with the rest of her flock. She eats and drinks well and is progressing, just not very quickly. The flock seems to huddle up around her at night, so I think they keep her warm. I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why she would be developing so slowly?

I have a chick that had a difficult time at first. It was slow growing the first three weeks. Now, at six weeks, the chick is doing much better and growing by the day. Maybe some just take a little more time to adjust to life.
