I have a Sapphire Gem (pullet supposedly) that is about a week and a half old, they are a sex link bird and mine does not have the spot on the top of the head to indicate male... however it has no tail feathers. I scoured the Sapphire Gem thread and this doesn't seem to be a breed trait (slow tail feather growth). Am I jumping to conclusions too quickly? Has anyone had a pulley with slow growing tail feathers?

Okay, all three of my other chicks have them (different breeds) but I’m new to chickens, normally a duck gal :)

I’m becoming more and more suspicious of this “pullet”. Here are some updated pics, no wattles but a slight pink comb and this bird is feathering out so oddly.

She is about four weeks old now.
