She is living out her bird dreams... Maybe you should leave her. Who are we to judge if she is a chicken, or a bald eagle? Maybe she's a bald eagle on the INSIDE. What is her self-identity? Have you asked her these important questions?
It could be worse, she could have decided she was a fish...

We tried getting her down with a ladder one night and it's not tall enough and there are branches in the way, which makes for one very unsteady ladder.

We have a skidsteer that is being borrowed right now and it will be back this Friday, so DH says we will put him in the bucket and I can raise him up and he might can reach her then

Slow Mama will come down one way or another! I think she should hatch somewhere around Sept. 15, so she is fine for now. It's the chicks hatching and falling out that I am worried about!
