slugs and chicken feed

slugs seem to come out at night and start eating the chickens feed and leave behind a slime path in the feed. can that hurt the chickens when they eat it. also the slugs have little parisites running all over them can that hurt or get on the chickens if left behind after the slug leaves the cage by morning?

If you sprinkle egg shell where the snails or slugs like to go, they would stop. It might take a couple days first, because they have to eat the shells before they stop coming. This helps gardens too, but the chickens WILL start eating it... everytime you cook eggs get a container and save the shells. It’s healthy for them anyways.

My Mother sat small bowls of cheap beer out for them, they cannot resist it, and it kills them. They melt in the beer,,,

But you won't want your birds drinking that beer, especially with dead slugs in it!
Maybe the egg shell idea will work, and it's not a problem for the chickens.
