Slugs! Loads and loads of slugs!! Removal help please?

Wouldn’t the ducks fly away though? Do you have to keep wings trimmed? Wife wants some but I’ve been super hesitant on them and said no for now.
Domestic breeds like the White Pekin are typically grounded. I have one who can't even fly 1 foot. Seriously, she can't even jump. Chickens can fly better than my ducks.

You haven't lived until you've witnessed a pair of ducks playing with a giant slug in a bucket of water, so it releases masses of protective slime which glues their bills shut and they try and wash it off in the water but it is too sticky, and they want to eat the slug but its too much fun playing with it first, so they have to wipe their bills clean on the grass first, and then eventually one of them downs the slug in one, like it said out of a shotglass down their throat!! lol

Chickens will just peck the big ones into pieces first. The tiny ones go straight down. Gross but apparently yum.

Ah! :eek:Totally grossed out with that visual😂
My girls I’m sure would have a ball with it, but I still would rather eliminate these pests. Because I don’t want them around lol. I have to wait on the ducks, id have to make another in closure and we have a lot to set up, before our move.

I would say put out pans or bowls with beer in them (the slugs go to it and die), but I’m not sure if the chickens would drink the beer. Yikes!

The only way I can get rid of slugs and snails in my garden (not the chicken area, but the area where I grow plants) is to go out at night and pick them off the plants using gloves and put them in a lidded bucket. The next day my chickens get a feast.

I can put down slug pellets but they are poison, and I don't want to poison my animals.

Can't you just let your chickens have at them? Put a plank of wood down on the ground. The slugs will go and sleep under it. Turn it over every few days to let the chickens have them.

Depends on the breed. Most domestic ducks do not fly. I am new to ducks and absolutely love them! Get a few and try it!
